The Crew Lead - Structured Cabling is responsible for leading and supervising field installation crews on voice, data, and structured cabling projects. This role serves as the primary on-site coordinator, ensuring installations are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with company and customer quality standards. The Crew Lead provides technical guidance, oversees daily activities, maintains project documentation, and serves as the primary customer contact at the job site.
Key Responsibilities Crew Leadership & Supervision- Lead and manage installation crews on structured cabling projects.
- Provide training, coaching, and technical guidance to team members.
- Monitor employee performance and communicate concerns to the Project Manager when necessary.
- Conduct and document weekly safety meetings.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and safety standards.
- Coordinate daily activities with the Project Manager and Project Lead.
- Monitor productivity and project progress to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
- Assist with planning work assignments and resource allocation.
- Ensure efficient execution of installation activities and project milestones.
- Complete all required company and project documentation accurately and on time.
- Process timesheets, work orders, material transfers, tool transfers, and change orders.
- Maintain accurate project records and job documentation.
- Prepare and update red-lined as-built drawings.
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure installations meet company and customer standards.
- Coordinate moves, adds, changes, and voice/data cross-connect activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the field.
- Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge of structured cabling systems and installation practices.
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for customers.
- Address customer questions and concerns professionally and promptly.
- Attend customer, construction, and facility meetings as required.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers and project stakeholders.
