Master Automotive Technician

Sebastian Mobile Mechanic is looking for an experienced, dependable, and team-oriented Master Automotive Technician to join our growing team.

We are looking for a technician who understands that being a great mechanic involves more than completing repairs — it also requires accurate diagnostics, clear documentation, strong communication, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Complete mechanical and electrical repairs efficiently and correctly.
• Document diagnostic procedures, findings, test results, and repair processes.
• Provide clear recommendations for additional repairs or maintenance when needed.
• Communicate directly with the service writer regarding vehicle findings, repair progress, parts needs, and recommendations.
• Perform quality-control checks before vehicles are returned to customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.
• Work as part of a team to maintain a productive and positive shop environment.
• Follow established shop procedures and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Strong automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
• Master Technician-level knowledge and abilities.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to properly diagnose concerns instead of simply replacing parts.
• Ability to clearly document diagnostic and repair procedures.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Dependable, organized, and professional.
• Must take pride in workmanship and vehicle safety.
• ASE certifications are a plus.
• Experience with European vehicles, hybrids, electrical diagnostics, and advanced automotive systems is a plus.

We want a technician who takes pride in doing the job correctly the first time. The ideal candidate is someone who can independently diagnose difficult problems while also communicating and working closely with the rest of the team.

Our technicians are expected to explain what was tested, what failed, why the repair is recommended, and what was done to correct the problem. Proper documentation is an important part of our customer service process.
