Position Summary

The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Technician collaborates with management and team members to deliver quality service, leads field teams, and supports operational needs across multiple locations.

What

you'll do
  • Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and control panels, ensuring compliance with building codes and operational standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration units, walk‑ins, and HVAC systems to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
  • Adhere to OSHA and EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols during all service activities.
  • Lead and mentor field teams, providing technical guidance and promoting safety practices.
  • Manage service calls, coordinate with external providers, and maintain accurate documentation and inventory.
  • Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.
What you'll bring
  • Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings.
  • Strong ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, and building codes to ensure accurate system configuration.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Effective communication skills to explain technical issues and collaborate with customers and team members.
  • Capability to lead and mentor field teams while managing service calls and workload efficiently.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles safely for service calls within assigned regions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Option 1:
    Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
  • Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
  • Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
  • Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.
  • Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
  • Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
  • No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
