Glendale Community College is seeking an experienced
HVAC Specialist Senior to maintain, install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems and provide lead technical support.

• Provide lead oversight, technical guidance, and training to HVAC Specialists and maintenance workers.
• Perform journey-level installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC equipment and systems.
• Participate in designing new HVAC installations and develop equipment specifications and diagrams.
• Operate computerized Energy Management/BAS/BMS systems and modify operating parameters for optimal performance.
• Maintain central plants, chillers, HVAC units, sophisticated controls, monitoring software, pumps, and air handlers.
• Maintain computerized preventive-maintenance schedules and accurate equipment service logs.
• Troubleshoot high-voltage control circuits, electrical systems, circuit cards, controls, and energy-management systems.
• Use HVAC tools, testing devices, and software to diagnose damaged, defective, or worn components.
• Perform HVAC system upgrades, equipment replacements/add-ons, and recommend properly sized replacement equipment.
• Prepare, cut, thread, ream, bend, weld, braze, and join HVAC tubing, piping, joints, and fittings.
• Perform general electrical repairs related to HVAC equipment and systems.
• Install and adjust switches, gauges, pneumatic thermostats, valves, controllers, and HVAC controls.
• Lubricate, clean, adjust, and service HVAC equipment, including filters, strainers, tubing, and compressors.
• Repair or replace compressors, motors, fans, valves, thermometers, belts, and other HVAC components.
• Inspect systems for leaks, abnormal noise, electrical defects, and other conditions requiring repair.
• Install air ducts, evaporative coolers, diffusers, condensers, controls, and other HVAC equipment.
• Provide assistance and oversight for construction projects affecting HVAC equipment or systems.
• Respond to emergency situations and resolve immediate HVAC-related safety concerns.
• Read and work from diagrams, blueprints, layouts, work orders, verbal instructions, and technical specifications.
• Plan and estimate project costs and coordinate with vendors/manufacturers to purchase HVAC materials and supplies.
• Follow applicable HVAC codes and standards and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas safely and cleanly.
• Work in field environments and confined/tight crawl spaces and report technical issues to the assigned supervisor.
• Required: 3 5 years of HVAC experience and Universal Certification, EPA 608 Certification, or equivalent

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent;
  Preferred: Knowledge of BAS/BMS systems such as Metasys or equivalent
