Position: 9 Month Family and Community Engagement Liaison 1.0 FTE 26-27 SY

Department: Teaching & Learning

Reports to: Native American Education Program Coordinator, with District collaboration from the Director of Federal Programs

Term: 9 Months

Full time: 40 hours per week

Position Summary

The Family & Community Engagement Liaison supports student attendance, engagement, and academic persistence through proactive communication and collaboration between the school, families, and community partners. This position works closely with site administration, counseling staff, and program leadership to strengthen student connection to school and reduce barriers to graduation.

This role may provide services across multiple comprehensive high school campuses as assigned. In addition, the Liaison provides support for structured academic environments such as the Momentum Room and assists with culturally enriched and project-based learning initiatives. The Liaison utilizes trauma-informed and strengths-based practices to foster safe, supportive learning environments that promote student resilience, accountability, and positive relationships. Occasional evening and weekend hours are required to support family engagement events and community-based activities.

Training

And Experience
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Experience working with high school-aged students is preferred.
  • Previous experience in student engagement, community outreach, or school support roles preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed practices in educational settings preferred.
  • Bilingual skills preferred; fluency in Spanish or an Indigenous language is highly desirable.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
Licensing/Certification Requirements
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License.
  • Ability to provide own transportation and proof of insurance.
  • Valid Class I DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler's Card after hire.
  • Ability to obtain certification to operate a district white fleet vehicle (white bus) for student transportation, as required based on assignment.
