Job Description
Open during the summer months, The PERA pool is a great place to learn how to swim, attend a special event, exercise, or just cool off. We plan to offer a variety of swimming lessons and activities for various ages and ability levels. The pool will open May 23rd, 2026. Our general swim hours are 12pm-7pm Friday – Sunday, through September 6th.
We will be open daily for special events July 6th through July 17th. Swim lessons this year will run Monday – Thursday June 15th-25th, and July 6th – 16th. During those times we will offer lessons to groups no larger than 5.
Must be 16 years old to apply.
- Requires the following certifications:
Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED, WSI Certification. - We will accept certifications from Starfish Aquatic Institute (SAI), YMCA, American Red Cross (ARC), and Ellis & Associates (ELLIS).
Water Safety Instructors will teach group swim lessons to various ages, perform routine supervision and general maintenance within the pool facility. This will include vigilant scanning of guests , general maintenance tasks and functions to ensure the facility runs smoothly at all times.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDuties include, but are not limited to, ensuring the safety of pool guests, supervising swimmers, creating a class curriculum, teaching swim lessons, and performing daily and periodic maintenance of the facility including chemical checks, patio furniture care, deck cleaning, and other duties as assigned.
Ability to Provide the Following- Work afternoons, evenings and/or weekends.
- Be in good physical condition as lifting, bending, reaching, stooping and physical endurance are required for performance of duties.
- Prevent accidents through the enforcement of policies and rules and perform rescue procedures for anyone in trouble.
- Provide emergency care to guests in emergency situations (i.e., CPR, Rescue Breathing and/or first aid).
- Preferred at least 6 months of work experience in a customer service-related field.
