Transportation Driver Trainer
The Transportation Driver Trainer is responsible for conducting effective behind-the-wheel and classroom instruction for drivers and aides and supports the transportation department's safety mission. Serves as a substitute driver or may be assigned to a route as needed.
Training and
Experience:
High School Diploma or GED Must be at least 21 years of age with four (4) years of general driving experience. Two (2) years of school bus driver CDL experience or any combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential duties of the job.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Valid Arizona Driver's License. Must possess a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with S&P (School Bus and Passenger) endorsements, and Department of Public Safety (DPS) School Bus Driver Certification. Ability to obtain CPR Instructor, School Bus Driver Classroom Instructor, Behind the Wheel Instructor and Physical Performance Instructor certifications within 6 months of hire. Valid IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Department of Public Safety.
Skill In:
Entering and retrieving data and preparing reports using available computer software. Classroom facilitation and presentation. Use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Use of transportation technologies including GPS, driver telematics and DVR camera systems.
