Job Summary
Seeking Experienced CDL Drivers, Industry Experience is Preferred.
Yearly Boot Allowance.
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks, using front, side, or rear‑end load lift attachments to transport waste or recyclable material to disposal, transfer, or recycle facilities once trucks reach legal load capacity.
Commercial drivers provide pick‑up service for containers filled with waste or recyclable material weighing over 1,000 pounds, and maneuver wheeled containers to a pick‑up stage area. Residential drivers collect household waste or recyclable material in residential environments, while roll‑off drivers prepare, load, and transport large mobile open‑top and compactor containers from customer locations. All drivers must navigate high‑traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots, and perform highly skilled backing maneuvers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Operate vehicle in accordance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws.
- Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and document checks using the standard DVIR.
- Immediately report unsafe situations or service issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
- Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings.
- Work closely with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
- Notify Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
- Inform Operations Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions, including closed streets, heavy receptacles, or safety hazards.
- Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
- Dumps all receptacles completely and leaves customer location clean and free of debris.
- Follow route assignments, complete end‑of‑day documentation and check‑out process.
- Assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
- Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
- CDL‑Class A with an air‑brake endorsement upon hire, or CDL‑Class B with an air‑brake endorsement upon hire.
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
- Standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, hearing.
