Hourly Salary Range: $26.82 - $39.56

The successful candidate’s placement in the salary range will depend upon previous experience in a similar role.

Transportation and Sustainability / Transportation Maintenance

Job Type

Full-Time Regular

This position is classified as safety sensitive. Employees in safety sensitive positions are prohibited from all marijuana usage whether medical or recreational.

Schedule

Monday – Thursday, 5:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

This position oversees the maintenance and operation activity of transportation/transit infrastructure and facilities, including installation and maintenance of street signage and striping, bus stop shelters and furniture, graffiti remediation, bike paths, and lighting maintenance. Performs activities with limited supervisory oversight. Provides guidance to lower-level staff.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following

  • Oversees and participates in the maintenance of roadway signing and pavement markings and related infrastructure.
  • Serves as a lead in providing functional and technical guidance and training to lower-level staff.
  • Coordinates the installation, removal, and fabrication of signs and pavement markings.
  • Responds to and prioritizes graffiti mitigation, emergency cleanup and repair needs for damaged signs or other transportation infrastructure.
  • Oversees the preventive maintenance and new installation of traffic control devices, signage, pavement markings, graffiti and transportation infrastructure.
  • May perform responsibilities of a similar nature and level as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS Experience

Three (3) years of experience in transportation maintenance or related experience.

Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant’s full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.

Education

High school diploma or GED.

Professional Licensure and/or Certifications
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), when assigned to striping section.
  • International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Work Zone Traffic Control Safety Certification
  • International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Signs and Markings Level I
Additional
