Job Summary: The Quality Manager is responsible for all quality deliverables. The Quality Manager will establish, and review quality improvement plans as well as plant operational plans. This role will be a champion for continuous improvement leading to quality performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible to ensure that all quality deliverables are executed in a timely manner and the appropriate level of detail in compliance with safety standards, federal and state regulations, and industry best practices.
- Foster an environment where safety, cleanliness, quality assurance, and quality control are high priorities.
- Develop key customer relationships in the supplier quality area for successful execution of product launches.
- Oversee the quality team; lead development, training, and continuous learning of the quality department while serving as a mentor.
- Create resource budgets and staffing needs, participate in the interview process and add resources, as they are required.
- Establish the leadership and set strategic direction for a cross-functional team, driving a "People-Centric" culture that achieves the team’s goals and the development of the quality personnel and leadership team.
- Monitor and drive plant quality activities; customer and supplier quality, customer relationships, proactive continuous improvement activities, technical problem‑solving leadership and activities including corrective action processes.
- High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, with 3-5 years’ experience in a management role in the food or beverage industry preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-3 years of experience driving initiatives with OSHA State and Federal rules and regulations.
- Strong ability to efficiently remain organized, detail oriented and tactful while communicating, troubleshooting and multi‑tasking.
- Self‑motivated, operating with a high sense of urgency while working independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to understand and comply with all company policies and procedures as well as all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Proficient computer skills;
Windows, Microsoft Suites, Data Entry Systems, ERP / Inventory Control Systems, phone systems and email systems.
Useful fields of study include: business, supply management, engineering.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesUp to 8 direct reports, as well as indirect supervision of up to 5 temporary associates.
Work EnvironmentOperates in a professional office environment as well as within a manufacturing environment subject to inside environmental conditions and noise. Often required to sit, use repetitive hand motion, hear, listen, talk, stand, and walk. Often required to climb stairs, reach overhead, pull, push, and lift up to 50 pounds.
