Position Location Position Summary Information General Summary

The Administrative Assistant I will perform administrative and general clerical work which follows well established procedures.

Essential Functions
  • Types and edits correspondence, memoranda, reports and other documents
  • Greets office visitors and answers telephone
  • Receives and opens incoming mail
  • Prepares and processes routine acknowledgments and human resources actions
  • Maintains routine alphabetical and/or chronological files and/or records
  • Maintains time and leave records
  • Procures office supplies
  • Compiles information and types routine reports
Other Functions
  • Performs other related duties as required
Work Environment And Physical Demands
  • Work is performed in normal office environment
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Good knowledge of business English, correct spelling and arithmetic
  • Good knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment
  • Good knowledge of modern business software applications
  • Ability to make simple arithmetical computations and tabulations with speed and accuracy
  • Ability to adhere to prescribed routines
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Skill in operation of personal computer and other standard office equipment
Minimum Education , Experience Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year administrative assistant experience
Additional Requirements
  • Basic level of proficiency with MS Office applications;
    Applicants may be required to demonstrate proficiency at time of interview
