Job Description

The Food & Nutrition Supervisor / Administrative Assistant supervises employees engaged in serving food and maintaining cleanliness of food service areas. Provides support in all administrative tasks—including answering phones, filing, communicating with clients and customers, and scheduling staff. Candidate must communicate effectively and operate office equipment in a fast‑paced environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Displays polite, friendly, efficient and responsive Spirit of Service attitude to clients, coworkers and customers.
  • Trains workers in the performance of duties and assigns and coordinates the work of employees to promote efficient operation.
  • Maintains an accurate record‑keeping system for production employees’ time cards.
  • Assists in the selection of new employees, implements disciplinary actions when needed per established policy, completes performance appraisals and recommends salary actions per established policy.
  • Supervises the serving of meals, inspects kitchen and dining areas, utensils and equipment to ensure sanitary standards; follows established cleaning procedures and schedules.
  • Keeps records such as amount and cost of meals served and hours worked; completes opening and closing checklists per department requirements.
  • Requisition s and inspects foodstuffs, supplies and equipment to maintain stock levels and ensure quality standards.
  • Adheres to established systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment; complies with all OSHA regulations and other local, state, federal regulations.
  • Answering phones, filing documentation, communicating with clients and customers, operating office equipment like fax machines and copiers, consulting with higher level authority for resolution of difficult issues, submitting and processing invoices, setting up meetings and taking minutes, data entry and analytical work, providing clerical support, seeking to improve efficiency of daily operations, processing invoices & completing payroll, maintaining timely, accurate documentation required by management, possessing professional etiquette, outstanding customer service and interacting effectively with customers, employees and community.

Qualifications
  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 1-3 years of previous administrative or office experience preferred.
  • Validated understanding of computers, Microsoft Office, printers, fax machines, telephones and photocopiers.
  • Shows initiative, follows established procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication & listening skills.
  • Demonstrates self-development and integrity.
  • Read and understand information and ideas, using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
  • Strong digital literacy skills:
    Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret procedural documents and write routine reports and correspondence using prescribed format and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Requires management and leadership skills in addition to good planning and organization skills.
  • Obtain Food Handlers Certification within 60 days of employment.
