We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Title Clerk to join our team and support our vehicle sales and administrative operations.
Position Summary
The Title Clerk is responsible for processing vehicle titles and registration paperwork, ensuring all transactions comply with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Title Clerk:
- Process vehicle title and registration documents for new and used vehicle sales
- Submit title applications and related documents to the appropriate state agencies
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of all title paperwork
- Maintain title records and track title status for inventory vehicles
- Handle electronic and paper title transactions
- Resolve title discrepancies and communicate with customers, lenders, and government agencies as needed
- Ensure compliance with dealership policies and state regulations
- Assist accounting and administrative departments with related duties
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information and records
- Previous experience as a Title Clerk, Automotive Clerk, or related dealership administrative role preferred
- Knowledge of vehicle titling and registration procedures
- Familiarity with DMV regulations and automotive dealership operations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and dealership management software
- Experience with Web Dealer
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience with electronic title processing systems
- Strong problem-solving and customer service abilities
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
