Job Description

Job Summary
Manages day‑to‑day construction activities, supervising craft employees and subcontractors. Schedules field activities in coordination with the project schedule and is responsible for safety, production goals, quality control, and cost control. May supervise multiple craft groups or scopes of work. The role includes three steps (I, II, Sr.) that provide progression of skill and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists in or conducts review of shop drawings, design conflicts, RFI review, and implementation, managing quality control, safety responsibilities, subcontractor coordination, and oversight, ensuring work meets or exceeds Sundt expectations.
- Assists in or manages selection of equipment, construction methods, and sequencing of operations.
- Assists with or conducts subcontractor meetings.
- Assists with or manages implementation of LEAN planning.
- Conducts daily risk management analysis with project leaders to ensure timely mitigation and documentation.
- Demonstrates competency in understanding environmental control processes and takes corrective action when necessary.
- Emphasizes a culture of safety throughout the project and ensures the safety plan is executed relentlessly.
- Enforces the project management plan (PMP) to ensure field activities align with plan policies and procedures.
- Ensures daily management of project control activities and costs, taking appropriate actions for consistent deliverables and successful project execution.
- On self‑perform projects, acquires, develops, and manages craft field team, including establishing performance expectations, providing feedback, determining development needs, and conducting on‑the‑job training.
- Oversees, directs, and coordinates manpower, equipment, material, and subcontractor activities in accordance with the project schedule.
- Participates in business development and preconstruction activities as directed.
- Prepares and maintains a detailed schedule for specific areas of responsibility, incorporating sequencing and changes into the project team daily.
- Reviews and codes time sheets, quantity reporting, and daily costs; completes all daily reporting requirements accurately and timely.
- Uses reports to manage project scope and ensures steps are taken for successful field execution; participates in Monthly Progress Report development.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum of two years supervisory experience in construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures.
- Understanding of construction scheduling and cost control, and ability to supervise employees and subcontractors.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (steel‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
- May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist frequently.
- May stoop, kneel, or bend occasionally.
- May use telephone, computer, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.
- Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
- Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects frequently.
- Will interact with people frequently during a shift or workday.
- Will lift, push or pull objects occasionally.
- Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift or workday.
