Candidates must be willing and able to relocate to or reside in Temple, TX for the duration of the project. Our client can provide housing for candidates relocating to the area.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced General Project Superintendent to lead all on‑site field operations for a commercial construction project in Temple, TX. The right candidate will serve as the primary field leader, driving safety, quality, schedule, and budget from pre‑construction through final closeout. This is a project-based position of approximately 12 months with excellent potential for continued employment based on performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise all daily field operations on a commercial construction project
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and field personnel to maintain workflow and productivity
  • Develop, update, and maintain short‑term and long‑term construction schedules, including look‑ahead schedules
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, approved submittals, and contract requirements
  • Lead site safety efforts by enforcing OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and conducting regular safety meetings and inspections
  • Monitor project quality through daily inspections, punch lists, and corrective action follow‑up
  • Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, equipment usage, and site logistics
  • Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and delays in a timely manner
  • Maintain daily reports, RFIs, change order tracking, and as‑built records
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager, architects, engineers, owners, and inspectors
  • Support project turnover, commissioning, punch list completion, and closeout activities
Project Oversight
  • Direct all phases of field construction from mobilization to final completion
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and schedules before and during construction
  • Conduct regular coordination meetings with subcontractors and project staff
  • Ensure manpower and resources are properly allocated to meet project milestones
Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite at all times
  • Enforce jobsite safety rules, PPE requirements, and safe work practices
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building and safety regulations
  • Coordinate inspections and maintain required compliance documentation
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction supervision with increasing responsibility on ground‑up and/or tenant improvement projects
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, sequencing, means and methods, and building systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, and schedules
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, building codes, and inspection requirements
  • Strong leadership, organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with construction documentation, daily reports, and scheduling tools
Work Environment

This position requires regular presence on an active commercial construction site. The role involves outdoor conditions, uneven terrain, noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Candidates must be able to walk the site frequently, climb ladders/stairs, inspect work in place, and occasionally lift or move construction materials as needed.
