DescriptionThe Relationship Banker will serve as the single point of contact for customers, matching their needs with First United Bank products and services while mentoring employees. - Follow proper procedures accurately and efficiently for all customer‑servicing activities.
- Retain existing customers and develop new customer relationships.
- Serve as customers’ single point of contact for all products and services.
- Consistently meet and exceed performance goals; promote new products and services; educate customers and peers.
- Participate in meetings, banking functions, and community events as requested.
- Consistently meet customer service expectations by offering excellent service, greeting customers, smiling, using their name, and building rapport.
- Identify and match customer product needs with bank products by interviewing customers and discussing financial needs; make referrals to other staff as needed.
- Open new accounts, certificates of deposit, and ancillary products; answer customer questions, provide account opening information, and ensure proper paperwork is entered.
- Assist customers with routine inquiries and requests (balance inquiries, statements, stops, holds, online banking, ACH, transfers, deposits, wire processing, coin processing, notary services, privacy).
- Process a variety of transactions quickly with minimal or no errors, following bank policies (accepting checks, money orders, bonds, travelers' checks, cashier’s checks, loan payments).
- Maintain appropriate drawer limits, perform cash verifications and vault duties.
- Verify all transactions, place holds as appropriate, and verify the cash drawer upon shift completion; seek assistance when needed.
- Proactively resolve customer complaints, problems, or other issues.
- Review and resolve account issues from daily reports; assist customers with account charge‑off repayment plans.
- Perform security functions by opening and closing bank and vault, ensuring overall safety and security.
- Master the Primary Purpose and Essential Duties of the Relationship Banker I position.
- High school diploma strongly preferred; some college strongly preferred.
- One year of retail experience preferred.
- Cash handling experience preferred.
- Superior customer service skills required.
- Basic mathematics to solve problems.
- Requires high accuracy with daily work.
- Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate with customers and co‑workers.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently, without close supervision.
- Ability to use good judgment and exercise decision‑making skills.
- Critical thinking: use logic and reasoning to identify solutions.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
- Behave ethically at work and outside work environment.
- Active Listening: give full attention to what others say, ask questions, and seek to understand points.
