OverviewPrimary
Purpose:
To lead, supervise, and administer district student services programs that support high-quality educational outcomes for all Temple ISD students and staff.
- Master’s degree, Doctorate Preferred
- Minimum three years campus principal experience
- Teaching experience
- Principal, Mid-Management, or Superintendent Certification
- Provides policy updates and recommendations to the Board of Trustees and district administration.
- Serves as chair of the district policy committee, overseeing policy review, development, and alignment with legal and district requirements.
- Provides leadership for district-wide rezoning and redistricting initiatives in alignment with enrollment trends, district priorities, and Board direction.
- Develops demographic studies and reports to support district planning and Board decision-making.
- Leads the district safety committee to ensure coordinated safety planning, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborates with local emergency responders to conduct tabletop exercises, threat assessments, and safety training.
- Serves on community boards to strengthen district–community partnerships and support student services initiatives.
- Coordinates military partnerships and related programming, including Adopt-A-School, MCEC, and other military-connected initiatives.
- Maintains a visible leadership presence by attending community-wide events and activities.
- Reports district-level issues requiring administrative awareness or action to the Superintendent.
- Leads the development and use of data dashboards to inform district-wide decision-making related to attendance, behavior, health services, and counseling.
- Standardizes district procedures for student discipline to ensure consistency, equity, and compliance.
- Leads the development, implementation, monitoring, and accountability of the district student attendance plan.
- Leads the development, implementation, monitoring, and accountability of district student behavior management processes and plans.
- Coordinates and assists with the development and oversight of the student services budget.
- Oversees Section 504 programs, PEIMS reporting, after-school programs, parent communication and training initiatives, the truancy department, and coordination with School Resource Officers.
- Provides leadership and oversight for health services, student guidance and counseling, behavioral RTI/MTSS, athletics, and fine arts programs.
- To provide leadership and oversight for district programs, including the Technology Department, that ensure effective educational and student support services for Temple ISD students and staff.
- Serves as the District Title IX Coordinator and ensures compliance with all applicable requirements.
- Serves as the District Homeless Liaison in compliance with McKinney-Vento requirements.
- Maintains and monitors district reports related to bullying incidents and required documentation.
- Coordinates the development, review, and implementation of the Student Handbook and Student Code of Conduct.
- Leads and proactively supports campus administrators in the development, implementation, and oversight of effective student discipline systems and practices.
- Audits and monitors campus disciplinary procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and effectiveness.
- Collaborates with campus principals to support effective implementation of attendance and behavior management plans.
- Provides ongoing district-wide support through regular visits with campus counselors to identify campus needs and align support strategies.
- Serves as a district-level resource to campus administrators in the resolution of complex student issues and conflicts.
- Responds to and resolves parent concerns and student-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Reviews and approves inter-district, intra-district, and compliance-based student transfers.
- Interprets and enforces district attendance zone boundaries and neighborhood school assignments.
- Serves as the District Hearing Officer, conducting DAEP conferences, JJAEP hearings, and parent/student grievance hearings.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
