Job Description

Our motto at Taylor Robinson Music is "Learn to Play From the Heart." We hire private music instructors, especially for Voice, who share this philosophy. We do not have a brick‑and‑mortar studio in the Temple area, but we have students looking for teachers as soon as possible. Lessons may be conducted in students' homes, in the instructor's own home or studio, or via webcam.

While a small fraction of students prefer webcam lessons, most still prefer in‑person instruction. Local instructors who can host students or travel to students within the Temple area are required. Pay is on an independent‑contractor basis between $20 and $30 per hour, depending on travel time, experience, education, and student retention rates. Instructors set their own schedules and curriculum, while Taylor Robinson Music handles advertising, marketing, SEO, and billing.

Ideal candidates are those who are great with kids, love teaching, communicate well with our office, and are organized and punctual. Formal music training is not mandatory, but you must hold a degree in music, be enrolled in a music program, have professional performing experience, or possess previous teaching experience. All instructors must observe COVID‑19 precautions: wear a mask, sanitize hands, and practice social distancing when applicable.

Responsibilities
  • Teach voice lessons to students of all ages.
  • Schedule and conduct lessons in student homes, instructor home/studio, or via webcam.
  • Maintain punctuality and professionalism for all lessons.
  • Provide lesson plans and curriculum tailored to student needs.
  • Follow COVID‑19 safety protocols during in‑person lessons.
Qualifications
  • Degree in music, enrollment in a music program, professional performing experience, or prior teaching experience.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as a contractor.
  • Willingness to travel within the Temple, TX area.
