Kindergarten Classroom and Religion Teacher

St. Mary's Catholic School, a member of ICLE, is seeking a dynamic teacher to lead our students toward a deeper love of Christ and his Church and a greater appreciation of their academic subjects, while modeling and fostering the Catholic virtues.

St. Mary's was established in Temple in 1897 and has long served students and their families in grades PK through 8th grade. We serve our ministry in the Temple area, one hour north of Austin, TX.

Our Catholic curriculum focuses on the great books of the Western tradition and seeks to integrate our Humanities curriculum with the essential truths of our Catholic faith. The Kindergarten Classroom & Religion Teacher plans, guides, and evaluates students' learning. This position reports to the principal and has decision‑making responsibilities within the framework of school policies, philosophy, organization, and curriculum.

The Bishop has entrusted the principal to make Christ's mission present and enduring in the school. To fulfill this mission, the principal employs suitable collaborators. The principal shares Christ's mission with them and entrusts various responsibilities to them. Positions within the school help extend the principal's ministry in specific ways, as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the principal in performing the principal's ministry, thereby engaging in ministry for the Church.

• Bachelor’s degree in subjects taught or a related field from an accredited American university or equivalent in a foreign country.

• Relevant classroom experience required.

• Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing.

• Must meet the minimum requirements for the teaching field as set forth by the Diocese and TCCED.
• Must submit an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application for Ministry within the first week of employment, participate in an EIM Basic abuse prevention training workshop within 30 days of submitting a complete Application for Ministry, and maintain EIM compliance during the entire term of employment.
