SUMMARY

Under general supervision of the anatomy and physiology lab coordinator and biology department chair, tutors will assist anatomy and physiology students in learning anatomical structures, which requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, maintain organization of laboratory models, quantify student usage of the lab, organize the anatomy teaching labs at the end of each semester, inventory the lab models, maintain and submit their timesheets promptly and be available to meet with the anatomy and physiology lab coordinator as needed.

MINIMUM

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Earned an "A" in both Anatomy & Physiology I and II (Biol 2401 and 2402) and demonstrates proficiency in human anatomy.

CERTIFICATION OR LICENSES

None The incumbent will:

  • Maintain organization of laboratory models by following specific instructions of department chair.
  • Quantify student usage of the lab by entering time usage into an Excel spreadsheet.
  • Organize the anatomy teaching labs at the end of each semester by following specific instructions of department chair.
  • Inventory the lab models by entering the information into software or manual inventory sheets designated by the department chair.
  • Keep track of time worked into an electronic timesheet and submit the timesheet by the designated deadline.
  • Be available to meet with the anatomy and physiology lab coordinator as needed.
  • cover shift of fellow tutors as needed
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Ability to utilize different methods to covey course material.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain an organized lab/learning environment.
  • Ability to maintain student usage sign-in sheet.
PHYSICAL EFFORT

Light physical activity with lifting of laboratory models up to 40 pounds. Position requires long periods of time sitting or standing. Use a computer to enter data for student data usage.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a laboratory setting.

Close proximity to moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, smoke, flames, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

WORK SCHEDULE

Schedule will vary due to departmental commitments.

Work may be required outside of normal business hours. evenings and weekends

This is an on-site position. Essential duties of the role must be performed in-person, during prescribed work hours.

HOURS REQUIRED PER WEEK

Range from 4 to 19.5 per week
