Service Manager, ALM

Location:
Central Region (primary base at Advanced Laser Materials (ALM) Lab located in Temple, Texas when not in the field)

We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and motivated Field Service Engineer / Project Engineer to join our team. This hybrid role combines hands‑on field service support with project‑based engineering responsibilities. You will be responsible for executing installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities in the field, while also supporting engineering projects and development efforts at our Advanced Laser Materials (ALM) Lab in Temple, TX when not traveling.

Mission
  • Installation of equipment at customer facilities to ensure full functionality according to EOS specifications.
  • Provide on‑site and remote technical support to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance procedures within scheduled timelines.
  • Lead or support technical projects including system upgrades, retrofits, and process improvements.
  • Actively contribute to engineering development, prototyping, and validation activities at the ALM Lab in Temple, TX when not deployed in the field.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management on project execution and issue resolution.
  • Develop and maintain project‑related documentation, timelines, and status updates.
  • Support customer‑specific engineering initiatives, including validation, testing, and optimization activities.
  • Cooperate in projects such as training, documentation development, and exhibition installations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all service and project documentation in accordance with EOS procedures.
  • Manage service tools and spare parts inventory, ensuring accurate tracking of company assets.
Your Talents
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in servicing industrial equipment and/or engineering project environments.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Technology (required).
  • 3–5 years of Solid Works experience (required).
  • Experience in additive manufacturing data preparation using MAGICS and/or Solid Works.
  • Ability to support engineering projects, including documentation, design reviews, and implementation.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electromechanical assemblies, and motion control systems.
  • Thorough product knowledge of industrial lasers and axis motion systems is a plus.
  • Skilled in interpreting written, schematic, and diagram‑based engineering instructions.
  • Proficiency with PC systems, MS Windows, networking basics, and MS Office tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to balance field service and project priorities.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across field service, engineering, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Professional communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including international travel.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
