We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our finance and accounting team in Temple, TX.

Position Summary

The Controller will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and serve as a key leader within the finance and accounting team. This role is responsible for overseeing core accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting strategic financial initiatives. An ideal candidate is responsive, thoughtful, self‑directed, positive, and seeking a challenging role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all accounting operations, including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Oversee month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets, forecasts, financial analyses, and management reporting packages.
  • Manage daily cash management and treasury functions.
  • Prepare bank reporting, compliance documentation, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Research and resolve technical accounting issues as needed.
  • Maintain and oversee the fixed asset ledger.
  • Manage credit card and sales commission processing.
  • Lead credit review and new customer setup processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and a formal Schedule of Authority.
  • Partner with the CFO, CEO, and senior leadership team on strategic financial initiatives.
  • Oversee quality control for all financial transactions and reporting outputs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience with fully integrated ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self‑directed, detail‑oriented, and able to thrive in a dynamic, growth‑oriented environment.
