Address: 2401 South 31st Street, Temple, Texas 76508. ECHO Lab is growing and we have full‑time opportunities available with a $10,000 sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance.
Schedule & CallHours of operation for ECHO are variable – must be available from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Flexible to work extended hours when needed. On‑call includes weekends and holidays. Weekend starts at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and ends at 7:00 a.m. on Monday. Must be present/on‑site within 1 hour of call.
Travel: 1–2 times a month, rotational – occasionally travel with a portable ultrasound machine to a continuing care facility across town.
Certification & Credentials- Multi‑credentialed sonographers must have: RCS – Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI) or RDCS – Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS)
Graduate of an accredited technical or associate’s degree program in radiology and at least 2 years of professional experience with intermediate level echocardiography or vascular skills.
Desired Skills- Proficient in transthoracic echocardiography; teach/share knowledge with fellows, team members, and students during clinical rotations.
- Familiarity with Philips iE33/EPIQ systems.

- Prepare patients for procedures, obtain clinical history, and adapt imaging techniques to obtain comprehensive diagnostics.
- Perform basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures using various equipment and techniques; make accurate measurements.
- Identify and define cardiac abnormalities; extend examination scope as needed; correlate invasive and noninvasive results.
- Assist physicians in procedures and operating rooms with echo cardiographic studies to reduce risk.
- Assist with transesophageal studies, calculate appropriate measurements, and sterilize probe.
- Record statistics, perform daily maintenance of the Echocardiography Lab, and report malfunctions.
- Act as a resource to staff, physicians, and students regarding equipment and protocols.
- Work closely with the cardiac sonographer quality coordinator to ensure quality processes; assist with ICAEL accreditation.
- Implement new technology protocols and ensure adherence to system standards.
- Knowledge and application of complex sonographic methods.
- Understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to explain examination purpose to patients and answer questions.
- Knowledge of approved clinical protocols for cardiovascular ultrasound.
- Knowledge of infection control and patient privacy laws.
- Effective communication with healthcare providers, sonographers, physicians, and nurses.
- Medical terminology proficiency.
- Skilled use of computers and medical equipment.
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited program or 2 years of relevant work experience. - Experience:
Less than 1 year of experience in the role. - Certification/License/Registration:
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire/transfer. - Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) at time of hire/transfer.
