Position SummaryThe Mental Health Technician Driver coordinates and provides transportation services for patients attending outpatient programs. To ensure safe and timely transportation; milieu management and crisis intervention. Patients served may include adolescents and adults.
Job Duties /Responsibilities- Follow the therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient
- Utilize sound judgment during assessment and observe and documents any changes in a patient’s appearance, behavior, or ability to work toward treatment plan goals
- Communicate changes in patient’s condition to the charge nurse

High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Preferred:
Certified Nursing Assistant;
Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, or appropriate therapeutic discipline highly desirable.
Minimum one (1) year(s) of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
LicensureMust contain a valid Texas Drivers License
Additional RequirementsSuccessful completion Handle with Care Training, Service Excellence Training, and CPR certification required. Certifications must be obtained during new hire orientation. MHT’s may be required to work weekends, overtime, nights, and have flexible hours. Must complete and maintain all training requirements as an Mental Health Technician and a Driver. Must be able to pass a MVR background check
