GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This is a grant funded position, and employment is contingent upon continued funding.

Serves in the Behavioral Health Division under the administrative direction of the Asst. Director of Behavioral Health. Responsible for developing and implementing evidence-based practices for Supported Employment services for opioid dependent individuals that meet standards and DSHS contract requirements. The position also serves as consultant to Center staff throughout the five county catchment area in establishing and providing Supported Employment services and opioid dependency services for Center consumers.

Works with the Center's Employment Specialist to assess existing active consumers for appropriate referral to the partnering agencies. This is a grant funded position, and employment is contingent upon funding.

This position provides a majority of services in the community, such as homes, jail settings, shelters, hospitals, and other environments in which the client lives and thrives. Due to this, this position is required to travel frequently within the service area and may interact frequently with clients, families, law enforcement/justice system officials, hospital staff, and other community stakeholders involved in the recovery of the individual they are serving.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build relationships with Texas Workforce Commission and Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) and Social Security Administration in catchment area and establish ongoing relationships.
  • Develop relationships with Chamber of Commerce and other local business associations.
  • Obtain and provide resources for personalized benefits counseling for consumers entering the workforce.
  • Establish and build relationships with employers in five county catchment areas.
  • Develop and implement Evidence Based Practices based on Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Model of the Supported Employment toolkit (SAMSHA).
  • Research peer LMHAs to benchmark employment services and potential funding opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain list of employment opportunities for Center consumers.
  • Educate staff on Supportive Employment efforts.
  • Attend Behavioral Health Management Team meeting quarterly to update and educate management staff on supported employment efforts.
  • Meets and maintains all minimum service requirements according to Center requirements, Resilience Disease Management Design and Texas Administrative Codes.
  • Must stay compliant with all required training.
  • Document case records, assessments, person centered recovery plans and progress notes according to Center requirements and Texas Administrative Codes. Employees will maintain complete and accurate consumer medical records and keep all such information confidential.
  • Work behavior must be compatible with Center Values and Mission Statement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards, trustworthiness, and personal integrity. Regular attendance, dependability, and promptness are required for the 8-5 work day or agreed upon hours 100% of the time, to ensure consistency and completeness of program’s processes.
  • Professional Development
    - Successfully complete training required to maintain skill competency and cross training to ensure consistency across program procedures. Complete continuing education as required by professional standards and the Center.
  • Frequent daily driving within the catchment area is required.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS Experience/Education/Licensing/Certification
  • Experience in a field relating to the agency program including, but not limited to, mental health, substance abuse, and employment services.
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in behavioral sciences, social sciences or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • LCDC or LCDC-Intern License preferred. LPC-Intern, LPC, LMFT Associate, LFMT licensure preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
