Travel Echo Technologist​/Cardiac Sonographer - Echo​/Cardiac

American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with 3+ years experience and Level I Trauma background for a Non-Invasive Cardiology role.

• Minimum 3 years working experience as a Cardiac Sonographer
• Level I Trauma experience required
• BLS certification (AHA only) required
• RCS or RDCS certification required
• Active TX license required if applicable
• Must be self-sufficient and able to work independently
• 2 professional references required

• Non-invasive Cardiology department performing basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures on adult patients
• Procedures include transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms
• Assists physicians in procedure rooms and operating rooms with echocardiograph studies during complex procedures
• 5x8 shifts, Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Prepares patients for procedures and obtains relevant clinical history to guide imaging technique
• Identifies and defines cardiac abnormalities, adjusting scope of exam as needed
• Assists with transesophageal studies including probe sterilization and measurement calculations
• Records statistics and performs daily maintenance of echo lab equipment, reporting malfunctions as needed
• Acts as a resource to staff, physicians, and students on equipment, techniques, and procedures
• Assists with IAC accreditation activities and adherence to quality protocols
• Scrubs must be any solid color with no prints
• Flu shot is mandatory with no exemptions granted, typically required during August through November
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
