Are you a Buyer or Purchasing professional with a manufacturing background, looking for a role where purchasing is genuinely viewed as a strategic function – and where the decisions you make have a direct impact on what gets built?
On offer is an excellent opportunity where you will have full ownership of supplier relationships, sourcing strategy, and negotiations. You will be given autonomy and trust to carry out your role to the fullest.
This is an engineering-driven business that values precision, accountability, and integrity. They are in the middle of a significant growth phase – investing in their systems, processes, and supply base for the long term. The person coming into this role will have real influence over how that supply base evolves, with scope to drive improvements, develop new sources, and support new product introductions from the ground up.
Day to day you will be negotiating pricing and terms, managing supplier performance across cost, quality, and delivery, supporting engineering changes and NPI, and using MRP data to stay ahead of demand. If you enjoy building strong supplier partnerships, solving supply challenges, and operating as a credible commercial expert in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, this is the role for you.
This role would suit a Buyer from a manufacturing background who wants genuine ownership of a supply base and the credibility that comes with being the expert in the room.
Role- Full ownership of supplier relationships, sourcing strategy, and commercial negotiations
- Direct impact on engineering, quality, and production outcomes – not a back‑office function
- NPI involvement – help build and shape the supply base for new products from day one
- Experience purchasing experience in an MRP‑driven manufacturing environment – essential
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record managing supplier performance on cost, quality, and delivery
