The Role

The Mission Critical Center of Excellence manages billions of dollars in projects annually, specializing in data center and mission-critical construction for leading technology and telecommunications clients across the United States. Focused on fast-paced, MEP-intensive projects, the group is recognized for delivering complex solutions while offering significant opportunities for career advancement within the thriving mission-critical construction industry.

The Senior Commissioning Manager is responsible for overseeing the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and documentation of MEP assets and systems throughout the entire project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of building MEP systems, excellent leadership skills, and a strong commitment to ensuring project success. This role partners closely with project teams, contractors, and owners to ensure systems are delivered safely, reliably, and in full compliance with mission‑critical performance requirements.

The Senior Commissioning Manager also plays a key role in driving commissioning strategies that support schedule certainty, risk mitigation, and operational readiness at turnover.

Responsibilities

* Lead and document day-to-day commissioning activities in compliance with OSHA and Suffolk safety standards

* Direct field personnel and subcontractors in accordance with project plans and Suffolk supervisory principles

* Manage commissioning activities for MEP systems, including system testing, DDC integration, and performance validation

* Review drawings and specifications; troubleshoot and resolve technical and installation issues

* Communicate daily progress, risks, and issues to the Project Manager and escalate items as needed

* Develop, maintain, and update startup and baseline schedules; provide monthly updates and two-week look-ahead reports
