Position: Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

Yoh Life Sciences is hiring for a EHS Manager in Temple, TX.

Title: EHS Manager

Duration: DH

Pay: $120,000/yr

Location: Temple, TX

Shift: M-F 8-5pm(varies)

Position Summary:

The EHS Manager is responsible for leading and implementing environmental, health and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures. This role will drive a culture of safety, sustainability, and operational excellence within Palladio Industries chemical plant.

Key Responsibilities (Not inclusive):
  • Site Compliance:
    Assure site compliance for all EHS regulations including preparing site permitting documents as needed in due time.
  • Reporting:
    Prepare and submit correct reporting needed for the site to be compliant. Examples are wastewater quarterly and annual reporting and inspections, Tier II reporting, Steers reporting, Form R, Storm Water Annual Report, Industrial hazardous waste report, P2P (pollution prevention plan), TCEQ operating status report, among others.
  • Policies, procedures and site communication material:
    Develop, implement and maintain EHS policies, procedures and site communication material in compliance with OSHA, EPA, PSM, and other applicable regulations.
  • Risk assessment & Incident Investigation:
    Conduct risk assessments and drive implementation of corrective actions to mitigate hazards in the workplace. Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis to identify effective corrective and preventive actions. Follow up on implementation.
  • Performance: drive EHS cultural positive change and site improvement. In accordance with Site Manager/Industrial Director, develop and maintain an effective EHS KPI grid to track improvement.
  • Documentation Management:
    Keep all EHS records up to date and organized.
  • People management and development:
    Develop and oversee EHS training programs for employees and contractors. Train and mentor site employees and contractors ensuring compliance with regulation, internal procedures and industry standards. Train employees and contractors for PIT (powered Industrial trucks) including forklift, boom lift, scissor lift etc. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Be the positive change agent.
  • Audits and inspections:
    Conduct internal audits and coordinate/lead external regulatory inspections making sure site is ready and prepared at its best.
  • Communication:
    Make sure all stakeholders are informed as needed. Prepare periodic and on request communication material and sessions to maintain positive traction and site visibility.
  • Cross functional initiatives:
    Lead or participate in company cross functional initiatives.
  • Designated personal certifications and/or licenses must be retained as hired or designated.
  • Follow and utilize standard operating procedures.
  • Comply with company policies, required regulatory and legal guidelines.
  • Participate in all site safety training, activities, and drills. Safety is crucial to position.
Position

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of EHS experience in a chemical manufacturing industrial environment.
  • Experience preparing site permitting documents
  • Experience preparing and filing site EHS reporting (e.g. Tier II, Steers, Form R, Storm water, etc.)- Required
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, PHA, EPA, PHA,PSM, DOT and Environmental regulations.
  • Experience with risk assessment, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive organizational change.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), Six Sigma or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM), PHA and hazardous chemical handling.
Skills/

Experience:
  • +5 years’ proven work experience as a EHS Manager or similar role in a chemical industrial setting.
