About the Role:
The Saw Operator I plays a critical role in the manufacturing and production process by accurately and efficiently operating saw machinery to cut raw materials according to specified dimensions and quality standards. This position ensures that all cuts meet precise measurements to support downstream production activities and maintain product integrity. The operator is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and maintaining saw equipment to optimize performance and minimize waste.
Attention to safety protocols and quality control is paramount to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. Ultimately, the Saw Operator I contributes to the overall productivity and success of the manufacturing team by delivering consistently high-quality cuts on schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate industrial saw machinery.
* Ability to read and interpret measurement specifications and blueprints.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures.
* Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle materials safely.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Previous experience operating saws or similar machinery in a manufacturing environment.
* Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures for saw equipment.
* Basic knowledge of quality control processes.
* Certification in industrial safety or machine operation.
* Ability to work flexible shifts or overtime as needed.
Responsibilities:
* Operate and monitor saw machinery to cut materials such as wood, metal, or plastic according to job specifications and blueprints.
* Set up saw equipment by adjusting blade height, angle, and speed to achieve precise cuts.
* Inspect raw materials and finished cuts for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary.
* Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of saw equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
* Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment to maintain a safe work environment.
* Record production data and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
* Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
