Are you a Machinist looking to become the go to machining expert within a business, with the autonomy to set the standard, shape the process, and grow a department around you?
On offer is the opportunity to be the first and only machinist inside a brand new hydraulic cylinder remanufacturing operation, where your expertise will define how the machining function is built and run from day one.
This is an established manufacturer that is launching an entirely new service line: remanufacturing end-of-life hydraulic equipment across the region. Competitors aren't offering this yet. The orders are already in. This is a business that is growing with purpose, and they want someone who takes real pride in their craft to help build it from the ground up.
On offer is a role with genuine technical autonomy. You will set up and operate manual and CNC lathes, mills, and honing machines, machining and restoring barrels, rods, pistons, glands, and heads to tight tolerances. You will make the calls on speeds, feeds, tooling, and programming adjustments. You will evaluate components and determine what can be brought back to spec. You will set the standard for precision and craftsmanship on a floor that is being built around quality.
This role would suit a highly experienced Machinist who is ready to stop being one of many and start being the expert, with the influence, autonomy, and long‑term growth opportunity that comes with it.
The Role:- The sole machining expert in a brand new hydraulic division – genuine ground‑floor opportunity
- Full lathe, mill, honing, and CNC operation – boring, rod turning, thread cutting, piston and head work across both TH and competitor cylinders
- Direct input into how the machining function is built as the division scales nationally
- Machining experience with strong manual lathe and mill background
- CNC experience with ability to edit and adjust programs
- Able to hold tight tolerances consistently – to 1/100th of an inch
We are an equal opportunities company and welcome applications from all suitable candidates.
