What You'll Do- Set up and operate manufacturing equipment including grinders, saws, and other production machines
- Read blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and specifications to understand production requirements
- Measure and mark materials to prepare parts for production
- Select and install tooling, fixtures, and materials required for assigned work
- Monitor machine performance and make routine adjustments to maintain quality standards
- Inspect finished parts and verify conformance to specifications
- Perform setup verification as required
- Troubleshoot routine production issues and communicate concerns to supervisors and team members
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements
- Support team goals and assist with other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, operating procedures, and safety requirements
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Dependable attendance and positive teamwork
- Manufacturing experience is helpful but not required
Many of our machinists started as machine operators. This position provides an opportunity to learn machining fundamentals, blueprint reading, inspection techniques, and production processes while building the skills needed for future advancement within Texas Hydraulics.
This position works in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving equipment, vibration, noise, fumes, airborne particles, varying temperatures, and industrial materials. Required PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel‑toed safety shoes.
Physical RequirementsEmployees regularly stand, walk, reach, lift, carry, and handle materials throughout the shift. Employees must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
