Material Handler - Parts Room

Material Handler - Parts is responsible for moving, storing, and managing various materials for product lines and shop supplies. They play a key role in the supply chain and logistics, ensuring that products are available to the team when needed and that shipments are on time and meet quality standards. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards and company policies are essential functions of this role.

• Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed.
• Locates materials and supplies; may pull and verify materials with work order.
• Maintains in-process inventory by opening and stocking materials and supplies; delivers if necessary.
• Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
• May operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials.
• Keeps inventory and loading areas clean.
• Receives and inspects incoming materials and products for quality, quantity, and accuracy of shipment.
• Verifies inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigates discrepancies or adjusts errors.
• Stores items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
• Marks inventory with identification tags or other labeling equipment.
• Occasionally handles documentation of sales orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
• Maintains inventory transactions and performs cycle counts to ensure accuracy of stock levels.
• Assists with inventory control and audits as needed.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
• Other assigned duties as needed.
• Serves as back‑up purchasing agent.
• Accurately identifies a majority of new or used product line parts and accessories, and assists the department with little oversight.
• Works with vendors.
• Gathers quotations if needed.
• Has advanced knowledge of the Syspro system, with a firm understanding of allocating parts to jobs and technical expertise.
• Has knowledge of Trail'd Accounting Software; reconciles purchase orders and audits payment, following up on past‑due invoices.

• HS Diploma/GED preferred.
• 3‑5 years’ experience in a Parts Department.
• WMS (Warehouse Management System) experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• A proven track record in safety excellence is required.
• Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization and promptly reports any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries to management.
• Ability to read and interpret sales orders.
• Meets department and production goals set by supervisor.
• Ensures product quality meets company and client expectations.
• Possesses a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem‑solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail, and works effectively in a team environment.
• Adheres to the company’s employee handbook policies and embodies the organization’s core values.
• Can learn other department job functions and fill in as needed.
• Completes company compliance and safety training when required.
• Works a flexible schedule and can perform under pressure in a fast‑paced work environment.

• Lifts 50 lbs from floor to waist and from waist to shoulder multiple times.
• Stands and walks for long durations.
• Bends, squats, and kneels multiple times for long durations.
• Climbs up and down a ladder multiple times.
• Balances and stands on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods of time.
• Comfortable working in the heat and cold due to manufacturing facilities not being climate controlled.
