Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for an Operator A 1st Shift 'Floater/Relief Operator' at our Temple manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the safe operation of multiple pieces of equipment used in the manufacturing of components and/or finished products for internal and external customers as defined by daily production schedules.

Job SummaryFloater position that will be responsible for the safe operation of a specific piece of equipment used in the manufacturing of components and/or finished products for internal and external customers as defined by a daily production schedule.
Position ScopeMaintains daily communication with Quality Control, Department Manager, and other employees in the department to ensure the needs of all internal and external customers as outlined by the production schedule are met. The position works in a normal manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes.
Skills / Requirements- Education: High school education or GED.
- Experience: On-the-job training provided; prior machine experience is a plus.
- Minimum Qualifications: Basic computer knowledge and ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime.
- Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
- Must be able to read and complete the labeling process.
- Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe working environment.
- Must be able to operate the machinery proficiently according to customer specifications and the daily production schedule.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure product meets all specifications.
- Monitor equipment to keep downtime to a minimum.
- Input pertinent data into the SAP system.
- Must be able to make machine adjustments when necessary.
- Must be able to read and interpret a tape measure.
- Assists with inventory as required.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
