Overview
Fulltime – Shift TBD. Our team is training in each of our 13 different specialties (robotics, ortho, spine, neuro, cv, general/bariatrics, gyn, plastics, surgical oncology, urology, ENT, transplant). We provide additional training for our neuro and cardiac teams. We do a variety of open, laparoscopic, and robotic procedures in multiple service lines, including laser and microscope procedures. Baylor Scott & White Temple operates 33 operating rooms, 3 hybrid rooms for neurovascular and vascular procedures, 4 Davinci robots, 2 Mako robots, and 1 Ion.
We emphasize teamwork and collaboration among nursing staff, surgeons, residents and anesthesia to deliver excellent patient care.

Responsibilities- The Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse coordinates patient care using the BSWH nursing professional practice model.
- Assess patients, identify nursing diagnoses, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate patient responses.
- Promote safe patient passage by anticipating needs and minimizing preventable complications or delays.
- Delegate interventions to health care personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, patient condition, and staff competencies.
- Apply clinical judgment to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care; modify plans to achieve clinical outcomes.
The Role
- Clinical Judgment: conduct accurate assessments, identify and prioritize patient and family needs, and evaluate the nursing plan of care.
- Clinical Inquiry: participate in quality/performance improvement initiatives and support evidence-based practice changes.

- Response to Diversity: incorporate patient and family differences into individualized care plans.

- Education:
Graduate of an Accredited RN Program. - Experience:
2 Years of OR Nurse Experience Required. - Certification/Licensing:
Registered Nurse (RN);
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire/transfer).
