Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital, a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.
Schedule:
Full-time, Evening position 1 p.m.–9:30 p.m.
We are looking for a full‑time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Level One OR Department. The team covers vascular and cardiac cases, including endovascular, TAVR, off‑pump CABG, valve replacement, AAA and other procedures. Two hybrid suites provide endovascular care.
Unit SummaryThe unit is fast‑paced, caring for very critical patients, 33 operating rooms and 2 lithotomy suites. The nurse works closely with anesthesia and surgeons, ensuring safe intraoperative care and supporting a team‑oriented, welcoming, and supportive environment.
Job SummaryThe OR Registered Nurse (RN) uses the BSWH nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care, assess patients, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate outcomes. The RN promotes safe passage through the intraoperative phase, delegating interventions per the Texas Nursing Practice Act and patient needs.
Essential Functions OfThe Role
- Clinical judgment: conduct accurate assessments, identify and prioritize patient/family needs, develop, implement, and evaluate nursing plans.
- Clinical inquiry: evaluate quality of nursing practice, support evidence‑based changes, and participate in quality/performance improvement initiatives.
- Caring practices: create a compassionate, safe, therapeutic environment and maintain therapeutic relationships while managing pain and preventing unnecessary suffering.

Qualifications- Education:
Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program. - Experience:
1 year of CVOR RN experience required. - Certification/License/Registration:
Registered Nurse (RN), Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer.
