Hospice PRN Nurse – Baylor Scott & White – Temple, TX

Schedule: Flexible – Weekdays, Weekends, Nights

Baylor Scott & White in Temple, TX is seeking a compassionate and experienced PRN Hospice Nurse to provide high‑quality end‑of‑life care to patients and their families. This role offers scheduling flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through patient‑centered hospice care.

Flexible PRN hours. Nurses may be scheduled during the day, Monday–Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, as well as weekends and night shifts, based on your availability.

As a Hospice Registered Nurse, one coordinates patient care with a patient‑centered approach and evaluates health responses. They create care plans and track patient progress.

• Develop, implement, and revise care plan for patient outcomes.
• Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, including delicate indicators. Help evidence‑based practice changes through research. Quality and performance improvement initiatives are part of your role.
• Create a safe, helpful environment for patients, families, and team members. Build therapeutic relationships, manage pain, and set boundaries to succeed.
• Respect and incorporate a patient's and family's unique differences into an individualized plan of care.
• Maintain patient and family privacy, autonomy, dignity, and rights. Create a plan reflecting their values and goals. Resolve ethical or clinical issues.
• Help educate patients, families, and team members to make informed solutions about healthcare and treatments.
• Work with others to create a care plan, being open and attentive to everyone's ideas.

• A deep knowledge of medical ethics and patient privacy rights is essential.
• Effective communication underpins all aspects of nursing.
• Being sociable and having the skills to interact with a variety of people will boost your performance in this role.
• Observing changes in patients' medical conditions and effectively relaying this information to other nursing staff and care providers is vital.l
• Provide patient‑centered care dependably, adjusting to each patient's needs and experiences with respect and consideration.
• Computer skills are important. Knowing Microsoft Office, scheduling, payroll systems, EMR, and email is crucial for the role.

• Associate's degree. BSN Preferred
• One year (1) relevant work experience in Hospice or Home Health required
• Must be a registered nurse (RN).
• (BLS) Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
