Our team training across 13 specialties—robotics, orthopedics, spine, neurology, cardiology, general/bariatrics, gynecology, plastics, surgical oncology, urology, ENT, and transplant—provides comprehensive care with open, laparoscopic, robotic, laser, and microscope procedures. We operate 33 ORs, 3 hybrid neurovascular rooms, 4 Da Vinci robots, 2 Mako robots, and 1 Ion system. The environment emphasizes teamwork among nursing staff, surgeons, residents, and anesthesia, ensuring patients receive immediate, compassionate care in life‑changing surgeries.
Job SummaryThe Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional who applies the BSWH nursing practice model to coordinate patient care delivery. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates individualized care, promoting safe transitions through the health‑care encounter while avoiding preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, patient condition, and staff competencies.

- In-depth knowledge of nursing standards, legal/regulatory requirements, hospital protocols, and policies.

- Awareness of professional ethics, patient privacy rights, and ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Effective interpersonal skills and critical thinking to address changing patient conditions and collaborate with physicians and other staff.

- Competence with general computer skills including Microsoft Office, electronic medical documentation, and scheduling systems.

- Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Experience: 2+ years as an OR Nurse
- Certification/Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) and Basic Life Support (BLS). BLS certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer
