Canyon Creek Behavioral Health is a 102-bed acute care psychiatric hospital located in Temple, Texas. The facility serves adolescents, adults, and seniors with psychiatric health, chemical dependency, and mood disorders such as anxiety and depression. Canyon Creek offers inpatient acute care and intensive outpatient programs.
PositionNurse Manager – responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with standards of care, mental health practice and hospital policy. The role involves supervising House Supervisors, RNs, and MHTs, monitoring staffing needs on assigned shifts, and assisting in training and educational initiatives.
Responsibilities- Ensure coordinated delivery of patient care in line with hospital standards and policies.
- Contribute to the hospital’s philosophy, objectives, educational programs, and performance improvement efforts.
- Supervise House Supervisors, RNs, and MHTs.
- Monitor staffing needs on assigned shifts.
- Assist the DON/ADON in evaluating, reviewing, designing, and implementing training events for RN/MHT staff.
- Provide patient nursing assessments on an as‑needed basis.
- Participate in Treatment Team meetings as required.

- Education:
Graduate from an accredited professional nursing school required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Experience:
Minimum of five years progressive nursing leadership experience, with staff education, educational concepts, practices, procedures, and 24-hour shift staffing. - Licensure:
Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing. - Additional Requirements:
Thorough knowledge of JCAHO, HCFA, OSHA, and state and federal regulatory requirements. CPR certification within 30 days of employment. Completion of Management of Assaultive Behavior (CPI), Crisis Prevention Intervention, and Service Excellence Training within 90 days of employment.
