Baylor Scott & White Temple CVOR Room Nurse

The ideal candidate will provide direct patient care to neonate through geriatric patient populations. He/She will address the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. They will communicate with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition, assist with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory, participate in performance improvement activities. The RN will assess operating room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtain supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met, monitor, position and assists patient during procedure.

The RN Circulator provides services to age range from neonate to geriatric.

This team covers vascular and cardiac cases including endovascular, TAVR, off-pump CABG, valve replacement, AAA and other procedures. Fulltime Variable Shifts 33 operating rooms, 3 hybrid rooms used for neurovascular and vascular procedures. 4 Davinci robots, 2 Mako robots, and 1 Ion. We have excellent teamwork and collaboration among nursing staff, surgeons, residents and anesthesia.

Job Summary

The Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional. The RN uses the BSWH nursing model to coordinate patient care. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient and identifies nursing diagnoses. The RN develops and implements an individualized care plan and evaluates the patient’s response. The RN promotes safe passage for patients by using knowledge of patient needs.

The RN helps patients transition through healthcare without preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, patient condition, and employee competencies.
