About the Unit

Medical Telemetry Unit is a 38‑bed unit focused on providing a high level of direct and individualized care and offering ample learning opportunities with a full spectrum of medical diagnoses and comorbidities.

Clinical Populations
  • Sepsis
  • Pulmonary Conditions or Respiratory Distress
  • Chest Pain
  • Infection
  • Patients requiring isolation, including to negative airflow rooms
  • Patients requiring skin and wound care including wound vacs
  • Patients requiring scopes, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, central line placement, paracentesis, angio-cath, pacemaker insertions and chest tubes
  • Enteral Feeding Tube Insertion and Maintenance
  • Patients requiring Cardiac monitoring
  • GI abnormalities
  • Trach care
  • Genitourinary abnormalities
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an established Nursing program
  • At least two years in the field
  • Registered Nurse License
  • Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of being hired
Requirements of the Ideal Candidate
  • Graduate of RN School of Nursing
  • ADN required
  • Must be licensed to practice professional nursing by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
