RN Ortho Trauma PCU

Baylor Scott & White Health Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse to join our Ortho Trauma Progressive Care Unit (5 South). The #1 city in the nation for Nursing opportunities and advancement. Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.

Schedule:

Full Time - 36 hours per week

Unit Summary

This is a 35-bed monitored nursing unit that provides the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients ranging from adults to Geriatrics. The conditions that are within the scope of service include the following but are not limited to:

* Post ICU trauma patients (serious traumatic injury to 2 or more body systems)

* Complex Plastic reconstructive surgeries (including reconstructive flaps and graft sites, post cancer reconstruction, and trauma related reconstruction)

* Complex ENT patients including free muscle flaps and neck dissections.

* Complex ENT reconstructive tracheostomies and laryngectomies

* Traumatic Complex Fractures and musculoskeletal wounds

* Elective Joint Replacements - Rapid Recovery Program

* Sports Injuries

* Spinal Deformities

* Complicated Pelvic, Hip, and compression Fractures

* Skeletal Malformations and Abnormalities

* Amputations and Prosthesis

* Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, General Surgery

* Medical/Surgical patients including those requiring Telemetry

Requirements of the Ideal Candidate

* Graduate of RN School of Nursing

* ADN required

* Active RN License

* Basic Life Support (BLS) Require or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer
