• Ventilator weaning
• Pulmonary and cardiopulmonary diseases
• Complex wound care
• Neuromuscular disorders
• Gastrointestinal diseases
• Postoperative complications
• Kidney disease, including dialysis
• Post‑trauma recovery

Average patient length of stay: 25 days.

Unit size: 25 beds.

• Blended ICU & Med‑Surg experience – Manage ventilators, titrated drips, and bedside procedures while also building strong foundational nursing skills.
• Supportive staffing ratios:
  • ICU: 2–3 patients per RN
  • Med‑Surg: 4–5 patients per RN, with support from non‑licensed staff and a unit clerk
• Dedicated wound care team.
• 24/7 respiratory therapy support.

• Active RN license (Texas or compact state).
• Passion for caring for medically complex patients.
• Desire to grow clinically in a collaborative, close‑knit environment.
• ICU, LTAC, or acute care experience preferred.

As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
• Build relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
• Create care plans reflecting values to help resolve issues.
• Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members. Empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.
• Collaborate with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
• Use different strategies for problem‑solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
• Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth. Contribute to peers’ development and show community service commitment.

• A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
• Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area. Understanding of hospital procedures and rules.
• Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and their side effects.
• Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
• Exceptional communication skills, allowing clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing.
• Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties.
• Excellent problem‑solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking.
• Basic computer skills, encompassing Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.

• Graduate of an accredited program.
• Specialized field of study in nursing.
• RN license.
• Must have BLS certification or obtain it within 30 days of starting.
