Program for Professional Advancement – Training in Healthcare Specialties (PATHS) is a comprehensive six-month Registered Nurse (RN) Fellowship program designed to facilitate a seamless transition and enhance nursing competencies.

As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs; create, implement, and evaluate care plans.
• Build relationships, manage discomfort, stay professional in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
• Create care plans reflecting values to aid in resolving issues.
• Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members; empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices; assess and document learning needs.
• Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan; delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
• Use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff; recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
• Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth, and show community service commitment.

• A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, procedures, and hospital policies.
• Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area.
• Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and side effects.
• Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.

• Graduated from an Accredited RN Program.
• 1 Year of RN experience required at time of application.
• 18 months of nursing experience preferred (12 months minimum).
• BSN preferred.

Registered Nurse (RN);
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer.
