The Veterans Integrated Services Network 17 (VISN 17) is a large network comprised of seven healthcare systems geographically dispersed throughout the state of Texas. We are seeking a Registered Nurse to support an engagement with VISN 17.

The Candidate

Pro Sidian seeks a Registered Nurse to support the current expanded operations and post-COVID operations to restore the healthcare systems to pre-Pandemic operations. This is a Contract Contingent position and the Registered Nurse services shall be performed at the:
Central Texas Health Care System - 1901 Veterans Memorial Dr, Temple, TX 76504.

Services Task and Job Requirements

In order to perform the duties set forth for this project, the Registered Nurse must meet both the minimum education and experience requirements set forth:

• Graduated with a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from a program that has been accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
• Registered Nurse with a current Texas State license including BLS certification and ACLS certification.
• Demonstrate proficiency using the nursing process in providing care for the clients with chronic conditions, rehabilitation, wound care and dementia population.
• Participates and collaborate in interdisciplinary care meeting as well as provide patient and family teaching.
• Apply the nursing process to systems or processes at the unit/team/work group level to improve care.
• Identify potential client problems and take appropriate nursing measures to intervene including ethical issues.
• Function effectively in a team leader/leadership role and uses team approaches to identify, analyze and resolve problems.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the delivery of client care consistent with accrediting/regulatory bodies, the VA, and Nursing Service mission, philosophy, goals, and standards.
• Demonstrate ability to work effectively with clients, families, or significant others, with professional and supportive personnel who provide client care and with members of other services.
• Act to avert or manage a situation, which meets the needs of the client in a safe/therapeutic manner.
• Must be able to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills and tact in dealing with patients, families and staff.
• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in keyboarding and basic computer operations.
• Must have the physical capabilities to initiate crisis intervention measures and the ability and knowledge to perform nursing care in an emergency.
