Job Description
Bio Life Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. Responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results.
About the RoleAs a Medical Support Specialist, you will perform duties such as:
- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs, handle medical emergencies, help develop Center Physician’s standing orders, and arrange transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance, ensuring donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and evaluate need for further occupational health assessment, following EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats in the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent; or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Active license or certification in the state of assignment: LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum of two years clinical or hospital experience.

Compensation and Benefits SummaryA U.S. hourly wage range of $23.04 - $31.68 applies, with potential for short‑term incentives for U.S. based employees.
