Registered Nurse (RN) - Outpatient Dialysis Clinic Baylor Scott & White Health | Temple, TX

Position Highlights
  • Full-Time position, Clinic open Monday-Saturday, Mornings and Evenings
  • Variable shift schedule with a combination of 12-hour and shortened shifts
  • Schedules are published six weeks in advance
  • Comprehensive dialysis training program (approximately 11-12 weeks)

About the Department

The Temple Outpatient Dialysis Clinic is a 50-chair facility serving patients receiving life-sustaining dialysis treatments. The clinic operates Monday through Saturday with three patient treatment shifts daily. Nurses develop strong ongoing relationships with patients who typically receive treatment three times per week, allowing for continuity of care and early recognition of clinical changes.

Required Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to professionalism, reliability, and outstanding customer service
  • Willingness to learn and successfully complete dialysis training
Preferred Qualifications
  • Dialysis or nephrology experience
  • Experience using Epic EMR
  • One or more years of nursing experience

As a Procedural Registered Nurse, work as a licensed professional using the nursing practice model to oversee patient care. Responsibilities include assessing patients, identifying nursing diagnoses, and developing personalized care plans. Regularly assess patient responses. Contributions help patients navigate healthcare safely by understanding their needs and the system. This prevents complications and delays. Delegate tasks based on Texas nursing laws, patient conditions, and staff skills.
