You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and serve as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. Your duties include determining donor eligibility to donate plasma, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. The role requires familiarity with regulations of the plasma collection industry and support of environmental, health and safety (EHS) and Bio Life Medical Affairs guidance.

• Determine donor eligibility, including managing informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including preparing standing orders for the Center Physician and arranging donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Consult the Center Physician or Medical Affairs on unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues concerning donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, referring to EHS guidance.

• When authorized by EHS, serve as Pandemic Coordinator and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• State license or certification in the assigned state (EMT‑Paramedic).
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
• Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

U.S. hourly wage range: $23.04 - $31.68

The estimated hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. The real wage will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.
