Summary
The Program Support Assistant serves in a 1B complexity, affiliated, secondary and tertiary care VA Health Care System within the Corporate Compliance Section. The Corporate Compliance Section is responsible for identifying non-clinical organizational risks and developing plans of action for the approval of executive leadership that will avoid or minimize risk to the organization. The section conducts audits, analyzes data and completes investigations.

Major duties include but are not limited to:
- Perform data entry, collection and validation for accuracy and abstract data from various sources to complete statistical reports.
- Computes totals on various statistics related to patient access, which includes Business Intelligence Service Line (BISL) Dashboard, Group Practice Management/Supervisory Appointment Tools (GPM/SAT) Suite, VISN 17 Datamart, SAIL, and VistA.
- Calculates the mean, mode, percentage and weighed averages. This may include graphing various reports for presentation to various employees, supervisors and/or upper level management.
- Conduct audits of a variety of areas that impact Veterans access to care.
- May conduct audits that are part of investigative or compliance actions and audits in the areas of business compliance, research compliance records management and privacy.
- Identify discrepancies and/or errors found during audits and communicate these findings to the Compliance Officer or the discipline-specific analyst for the area audited.
- Receives and responds to unclear internal and external inquiries which will be passed down and then reviewed by the Compliance Officer. Determines the general nature of the inquiry and independently responds to all administrative questions.
- Provide statistical analysis by individual section and service totals in regard to outcomes in access and scheduling accuracy. This will also include return to clinic order, consults, and recall reminder completion.
- Provides technical assistance in the development of corrective action plans and compiles information for presentation and reports.
- Provides training to various staff on the regarding scheduling errors, incorrect written text orders, open encounters, and open consults.
- Provides technical assistance based on the analyst review, they will list discrepancies and errors found during audits and will work with Services to correct based on VHA scheduling directives.
- Coordinate compliance activities under the direction of the Compliance Officer and will provide administrative support to the Compliance Committee. These duties could include coordination of logistics for fact-finding and/or other investigative actions.
