Job Description
Job Summary: As an Associate Trailer Technician, you'll assist with basic to mid-range diagnostics and troubleshooting, and with basic repair and replacement and preventative maintenance.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions- Assists in basic to mid-range diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Assists with basic repairs, preventative maintenance, and replacements in assigned specific classification
- Operates with basic tooling
- May work with others in an apprentice-style environment
- Assists in minor trailer repairs; repairs / replaces lights and interior plywood; adjusts brakes, repairs air leaks, repairs scuff liner
- Performs basic welding
- Repairs / replaces wheels and tires
- Performs preventative maintenance
- Performs trailer lubrication as needed
- Performs all safety-sensitive trailer repairs with Trainer or Foreman

Qualifications& Key Requirements Work Experience
- Mechanical experience (any is a plus)
- A skilled level of welding
- Familiarity with general preventative maintenance and safety procedures
- Skills to use fabricating tools
- Electrical skills (shorts / repair diagnosis)
- Ability to read schematic diagrams
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain a valid Texas Commercial Driver's License within 6 months
- Obtain CDL within 6 months of job start
- Obtain DOT certification within 1 year of job start
- Work in a team environment
- Lift 100 lbs and carry a distance of 5 ft
- Work sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and in a prone position
- Work with hands over head
- Climb; work from a ladder
- Begin actively pursuing the required certification for next Technician level
- Possess / maintain required tools
